Mission & Vision

The Episcopal Arts Center

Our mission is to faithfully tell stories through the arts, sacrament and collaboration.

Vision:

The Episcopal Arts Center is a community gathered around the arts and sacraments. We will be home to a theatre with flexible seating, gallery and community space.

Why we do what we do:

The Episcopal Church has long affirmed the movement of God through the arts. Historically, our churches and communities have been home to sacred music, jazz, theatre productions, liturgical dance, icons, art exhibits and much more!

The Episcopal Arts Center aims to amplify and house artistic and community expressions of wholeness and to gather for liturgical worship in the Episcopal tradition.

Stories shift our imagination for where and in whom we find the very real presence of God. Truthful storytelling is our call to rally, to locate, to celebrate, to claim our own stories inside God’s story.

We meet our vision by creating innovative art, gathering in sacramental life, and seeking community collaboration.

What is this, anyway?

Are you a church plant? A theatre? A community center? The answer is, “yes!”

There is something sacred in gathering to tell the story of God’s movement in the world. We tell each other’s stories through the lights, sound, words, color and fabric of the arts. We discover our shared story through the liturgies of Episcopal tradition. We create new stories with one another through intentional relationships forged in our community space.
